Poggio di Guardia
Description

Features
- BLEND: Merlot 50%; Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon 30%; Rebo 20%
- GRAPES: hand-picked; because of the high altitude of the vineyard, harvest does not begin before the middle of October
- FERMENTATION: Fermented with native wild yeast in small, stainless steel tanks, maceration takes about 20 days after alcoholic fermentation is complete.
- AGING: Each varietal of wine is aged separated for 14 months in oak barrels with the exception of Rebo; the Rebo is aged in“Terracotta Orcio”, a traditional Tuscan clay vessel. The wine is finally blended just before bottling and then aged for an additional 10 months before release.
